Bad Faith:   April 9, 2010

Wrongful death/Motorcycle accident: Client's father was killed in a motorcycle accident when his motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck.  A lawsuit was filed alleging bad faith against the insurance company for the driver of the pickup truck.  A settlement was reached for twice the amount of the insurance policy limits.

 

Bad Faith/Motor Vehicle Accident: Client was a passenger in a motor vehicle that was negligently operated.  The motor vehicle lost control, left the roadway, and crashed into a tree, severely injuring the client.  The client had surgery and extensive physical therapy.  Bad faith was alleged and a lawsuit was filed.  Prior to trial a settlement was reached for an amount well above the insurance coverage limits.

 

Bad Faith/Trucking Accident:  Client was severely burned in an accident involving his tractor/trailer.  A settlement was reached against one of several defendants for an amount well in excess of the insurance coverage limits.  The case continues towards trial against two remaining defendants, which includes a tractor/trailer company.
